Clwyd League Division 1
Greenfield 6 Brynford United 1
Steven Stooke
Brynford suffered their heaviest defeat of the 2007/08 campaign in this top of the table clash. Brynford took the lead mid way through the first half with a goal from Steven Stooke only to be pegged back 1 minute later both teams had chances but it was Greenfield who took the initiative with Steven Stooke netting his second of the game into his own net right on the stroke of half time leaving Brynford deflated after a good first half performance. Fitness showed in the second half and Greenfield ran away with it but both teams can now look forward to Premiership football next season.

An entertaining game and a good exercise for the first team prior to their final fixture of the season against Greenfield. The game was played with heart and nobody pulled out of challenges. The first team took the lead through Chris Buchanan a second half substitute scoring his first goal for the club. With Mathew Loton equalizing for the reserve team. David Williams closed the gap on top goalscorer Mike Prydderch by giving Brynford first team the lead again and an own goal from Lewis Dakin stretched the lead to 3-1 a dubious decision from referee Leigh Thompson when he blew for offside but on realizing his mistake waved play on the first team stood still and allowed Mathew Loton to score his second of the game. Lewis Dakin made amends for his own goal by scoring the equalizer for the reserve team late on taking the tie into penalties with the score at 12-12 both teams agreed a draw.

Well it was a stroll in the park today for Brynford with Aztecs giving them the lead through an own goal after only 4 minures. However Aztecs fought back with the last kick of the second half leaving the score 0-0 at half time. Although Aztecs had chances they were denied by two fantastic saves from veteran goal keeper Alan Weller making a rare appearance, through the absence of Danny Roberts who missed his first game of the season today. Mike Prydderch and his brother Justin finished the scoring with the two goals scored by Mike Prydderch make him hot favorite for top goal scorer this season.

Caerwys 2 Brynford United 2
David Williams (29)
Mike Berry (70)
A dissapointing draw for Brynford United who struggled to cope with the extra man in midfield for Caerwys and it wasnt until they played football on the ground and used the width that they took the lead through David Williams in the 29th minute that goal taking his total for the season to 19 just one behind top goalscorer Mike Prydderch Caerwys pulled one back before the break on 37 minutes. The two teams returned for the second half with Brynford playing much better football but got caught on the break after 58 minutes with this the only real attack Caerwys had in the second half which was dominated by Brynford who got their reward following a 70th minute free kick smashed home by Mike Berry this was to be the last goal of the game although Brynford had many chances to win the game they could not take advantage of them.

Brynford United secured promotion to the Clwyd Premier Division today with a 6-3 victory over Y Glannau the game was a lot closer than the scoreling would suggest. Brynford opened the scoring early through man of the match Dean Rigby on 5 minutes Mike Prydderch extended the lead on 18 minutes with an over head kick from 6 yards out and only two minutes later Dean Rigby struck from 30 yards to put Brynford 3-0 up after only 20 minutes. However Y Glannau did not cave in and kept on fighting clawing one back on 30 minutes leaving the score 3-1 at half time. Brynford were forced into a half time substitution after Justin Prydderch refused to return after the interval Mike berry came on and the back four were re-shuffled and on 60 minutes substitute Mike Berry continued his 100% record from the spot smashing home the fourth. But a lapse of concentration let Y Glannau back into the contest only 3 minutes later, Y Glannau continued to push hitting the bar and the post they had Brynford rattled and were back to within just one goal on 80 minutes. But Brynford substitute David Williams had the last say scoring on 82 and 85 minutes to secure Brynfords place in the Clwyd League top flight next term.

A dissapointing result for Brynford which has all but finished their hopes of catching Greenfield in the title race. Brynford were slow off the mark with what many have described as their worst first half performance all year. CPD Sychdyn burst into a 3-0 lead with goals on 12 24 and 39 minutes Justin Prydderch clawed one back for Brynford on 43 minutes leaving Brynford 3-1 down and shell shocked at half time. Brynford responded in the second half by scoring first on 60 minutes through top goalscorer Mike Prydderch only to concede 11 minutes later with CPD Sychdyn 4-2 up with 20 minutes to go they put 11 men behind the ball and the last 20 minutes was all Brynford who got their third with a fantastic scissor kick from Gareth Williams but it was to late in the day to have an impact.

Brynford crashed out of the REM Jones Cup in unfair circumstances with Glan Conwy fielding their first team against Brynford in the DIVISIONAL cup Glan Conwy's first team are currently second in the Welsh Alliance league 2 divisions above ourselves not that we didnt put up a good fight the scoreling does not reflect the pattern of the game. Brynford scored the only goal of the first half with a rare goal from Gareth Williams. In the second half Glan Cony pulled level on 53 minutes but Brynford responded and took the lead again from the spot on 56 minutes through Mike Prydderch. With Dean Rigby recieving a red card on 70 minutes Brynford were under pressure and held on until 87 minutes when Glan Conwy equalized to take the tie into extra time. Fitness began to tell on 10 man Brynford United and Glan Conwy took the lead on 98 minutes and finishing the contest with goals on 107 and 108 minutes a shattered Brynford team tried in vain and finally went down 6-2 after Glan Conwys 118th minutes goal.

Brynford took a huge leap towards securing promotion today with the gap between them and CPD Sytchdyn at 9 points and Brynford have a game in hand with only 8 games left Brynford are going to be hard to stop. Aston Park had a good go though they were the better team at the start taking the lead after only 10 minutes through Danny Morris with Brynford slow out of the blocks it took a header from Justin Prydderch on 20 minutes to get them going and that opened the flood gates Brynford scored three goals in 5 minutes with the second converted by Dwayne Durham and the third a penalty from captain Mike Berry which created a bust up between the Aston Park players with them fighting on the pitch between themselves. Aston Park lost all composure and were punished by David Williams on 43 minutes leaving the score 4-1 at half time. With Aston Park seemingly refreshed by the interval they came out fighting and got their reward on 55 minutes through Scott Skeen but Brynford were quick to reply with Justin Prydderch again unmarked at the back post heading his second of the game on the hour. Aston Park never gave up though with the tackles flying in in midfield their fighting spirit was one their manager is sure to be proud of Brynford made 3 changes with Dwayne Durham being replaced for debutant Mark Swinnerton captain Mike Berry who must now serve a 3 match ban was replaced by Tim Jones in order to give Tim some much needed match practice and the third subtitution was Leon Carrington for Damien Begbay who slotted in at right back. Once Brynford settled following the substitutions they stretched their lead to 6-2 through David Williams on 73 minutes who scored again on 81 minutes to completed the rout and score his first hat-trick of the campaign.

Point of Ayr 3 Brynford United 4
David Williams (10) (25)

Andy Skates (40)
Brynford United took all three points today on a heavy pitch in a well contested match Brynford started the stronger team and were forced into an early substitution replacing debutant Mike Horder after only 10 minutes with Andy Skates after a collision which caused severe bruising and stud grazes to the ribs of Mike Horder after a quick re-shuffle Brynford settled down and took the lead with substitute Andy Skates providing the perfect cross for David Williams who was unmarked in the box to head home Brynford continued to push and were awarded a penalty on 20 minutes which was smashed in by man of the match Mike Berry and only 5 minutes later Brynford were 3-0 up when David Williams slotted past the keeper who had rushed to the edge of his box. The game then settled and the referee evened things up by awarding a penalty to point on 30 minutes which was well taken by Darren Johns. However the first half scoring never stopped there with Brynford's Andy Skates slotting home his first goal of the season with a fine lob from a difficult angle leaving the score at half time 4-1 to Brynford. The teams emerged for the second half to commence battle once again and we only had to wait 5 minutes for the first goal which Gareth Williams put in his own net on 49 minutes after attempting to make a clearance Pat Rush who made his first start for Brynford landed in the net twisting his ankle and was forced into leaving the field of play to be replaced by Matty Jones Point now had their tails up but suffered a set back when they were reduced to ten men on the hour but this did not stop them pushing and after ten minutes of Brynford pushing to kill them off in a period of good play from Brynford Point hit on the counter attack with Sion Williams bringing them back into the game. Brynford made a change on 76 minutes replacing David Williams with Debutant Tim Jones who had a goal dissallowed both teams had chances to score in the final moments but Brynford held on to all 3 points. Unfortunately at the final whistle the match was marred by violance when Point of Ayr player Sion Williams left the field of play and assaulted a Brynford Supporter who is a minor then his father Brian Williams (Turkey) assaulted another Brynford Supporter during the incident a disabled supporter of Brynford was tipped from his wheelchair by Point of Ayr fans and another Brynford fan Neil Payne was assaulted all this taking place in front of the partners and children of the Brynford players. It was a quite astonishing incident which has been reported to the Clwyd League along with photographic evidence.

Brynford United are through to the Quater Finals of the REM Jones Cup to face Glan Conwy after brushing aside Cerrigydrudion 2-0 the weather conditions affected a dismal first half with the wind and sun behind them Cerrig stretched Brynford at times forcing them to clear off the line but never created many clear cut chances and with Brynford restricted to only a few goalscoring opportunities the first half unexpectedly finished 0-0. During the second half with the roles reversed and the wind behind Brynford there was a greatly improved performance David Williams continued his impressive goal scoring record taking his tally to 8 goals in 11 games including friendlies on 60 minutes although Cerrig battled hard and watching them today you would be surprised by their current league position Brynford stretched their lead with a strike from man of the match Justin Prydderch on 81 minutes Cerrig would count themselves unlucky not to have pulled one back in the dying moments but were denied after a fantastic triple save from Brynford's Goal Keeper Danny Roberts who kept a well deserved clean sheet.

A deserved and very important victory today for Brynford United leaving the chase for the title effectively a two horse race and improving their promotion prospects by beating their only real rivals with Greenfield almost certain to go up the difference today for Brynford was that they scored first apart from Abergele who they beat 4-0 Caerwys who they beat 5-0 and Greenfield who they lost to 4-3 Brynford have allowed all oponents a head start. With this in mind Brynford Manager Paul Jones selected a cautious 451 in order to prevent Betws taking an early lead and on 18 minutes Brynford switched to a 442 which worked immediately with Mike Prydderch shaking off his marker to calmly slot home the first on 20 minutes Betws had their problems with Brynford target Mark Richards suffering an injury and having to leave the field of play for another Brynford target Bobby Clayton after a challenge on the keeper. Brynford continued to create chances and Betws held on until the 40th Minute when Paul Cohen smashed his first goal of the season home from close range following a corner and Mike Prydderch completed the first half demolition only 2 minutes later leaving Brynford 3-0 up at half time. After a relaxed half time interval Brynford were punished for a lack of concentration and composure with Chris Littler scoring only 2 minutes into the second half but Brynfords response was immediate and Mike Prydderch completed his second hat trick in as many weeks on 49 minutes with a well taken goal. Brynford continued to create chances and completed the rout on 90 minutes with a strike from captain Mike Berry.

Brynford United 4 Rhuddlan Res. 3
Mike Prydderch (7)(70)( 80)
Roger Dakin (15)
After a reasonably successful 2007 winning 23 out of 31 matches Brynford United got 2008 off in similar fasion brushing aside Rhuddlan Res 4-3 the scoreline reflects a close encounter but in fairness Brynford had two goals dissallowed and were reduced to ten men on 60 minutes after Tom Beal was dismissed for using foul and abusive language towards the referee Jim Evans who didnt have a bad game but its no surprise he recieved some verbal abuse having shown no courtasy in language to either side. Again Brynford gave their oponents a head start as usual after Rhuddlan broke down Brynfords left with goal keeper Danny Roberts rushing out to the wing but failing to get the ball allowed Rhuddlan to cross into the box scoring into an empty net however Brynford responded in the right manner scoring two goals within ten minutes of falling behind the first a well taken goal by Mike Prydderch and the second smashed home from inside the box by Roger Dakin to take the lead 2-1 only to be pegged back after 25 minutes due to a lack of communication between the goal keeper and the defence Brynford were the better side in the first half having played some lovely passing football which forced Rhuddlan to literaly stand 11 men behind the ball and group together in the box to stop Brynfords onslaught despite heavy pressure from Brynford the sides went into the half time interval on level terms. The second half started slowly with Brynford unable to find their form from the first half and going down to ten men on 60 minutes just as they were about to make some tactical changes forcing the Manager into a quick re-think they replaced striker Dean Rigby for Paul Cohen who slotted in at centre half where tom Beal had been playing to allow them to settle. After 5 minutes they switched to 3-4-2 which worked immediatly with Brynford taking the lead only 5 minutes later with Mike Prydderch again twisting the Rhuddlan defence inside out and calmly slotting home. Man of the match Mike Prydderch continued to torment the Rhuddlan defence completed his first hat-trick of the season on 80 minutes. Rhuddlan pushed forward desperatly trying to pull one back leaving themselves short at the back and got their reward when Danny Roberts spilled the ball on 87 minutes.Brynford secured victory but will feel dissapointed not to have won by a bigger margin but its another 3 points all the same.

Sychdyn 3 Brynford United 3
Mike Prydderch (15)

A very entertaining encounter and a game where both sides will feel dissapointed not to have taken all three points after many mistakes due to the difficult playing surface. Many chances were created by both sides throughout the game with Brynford edging it having created more clear cut oportunities, and if Andy Skates had brought his goalscoring boots Brynford would have brushed aside Sychdyn in the first 45 minutes. Brynford once again gave their opponentes a head start allowing them to take the lead after only 2 minutes but as usual Brynford responded on 15 minutes with a well taken goal from Mike Prydderch and the teams were level after a hard fought first 45 minutes where Sychdyn continually abused the referee throughout with players and supporters disagreeing with every decision he made and this took its toll on the ref who allowed Sychdyn's goal just 3 minutes after the restart to stand although it was clearly offside but Brynford composed themselves and equalized for the second time through Ashley Durham who following a shoulder injury was switched from centre half to striker at half time took his chance supplied by Skates with ease. After more pressure from Sychdyn's players and supporters the referee changed decisions he gave to Brynford and awarded them to Sychdyn. With only 20 minutes to go Brynford with no substitutes ready on the sidelines lost Ashley Durham through another blow to his shoulder which finished his games and reduced Brynford to 10 men until they could get a replacement ready this didnt seem to affect them as Justin Prydderch gave Brynford United the lead on 75 minutes but unfortunatly this did not last and Sychdyn levelled on 80 minutes leaving the game on a knife edge but after a very physical final 10 minutes the game finished 3-3.

A change of system at the half time interval worked wonders with Danny Beal breaking down the wing from left back scored from a tight angle Dwayne Durham pounced on a goalkeeping error just minutes later which crushed Abergele Their Goalkeeper made another blunder in the 63rd minute and Dwayne Durham was on hand again to slot the ball home Brynford made a triple substitution which took the edge off the game for a short while however Brynford continued to dominate completing the rout on 85 minutes when sustitute Leon Carrington fired home from inside the box.

Brynford United secured victory against bottom of the league Cerrigydrudion by a narrow margin on paper but the score line should have been far greater with Brynford taking the lead after Mike Berry scored from a free kick when the keeper failed to get his body behind the ball and allowed it to slip through his legs. The score ended 1-0 at half time. Brynford failed to stretch their lead and were pegged back by Cerrigs Hedd Williams which was the kick start they needed Brynford started playing some nice passing football creating countless chances forcing Cerrigydrudion to clear off the line three times credit to Cerrig for their fighting spirit they hung on until the 80th minute when Dwayne Durham smashed home his second goal of the season from close range to secure the victory.

Brynford United clawed victory from the hands of defeat after 60minutes of playing poor football. Aston Park Res. created enough clear cut chances in the first half to have put the game to bed only for some excellent goalkeeping from man of the match Danny Roberts and the teams were level 0-0 at the break. At half time Brynfords player manager Paul Jones made way for Roger Dakin after a poor first half display Aston Park Rangers Res set up the second half as they did the first with five men at the back and burst into a 2-0 lead hitting Brynford on the counter attack twice at this point it looked like victory for Aston Park was a certainty as they camped all five men in the box and were knocking the ball long whenever it got near them but trying to hold on for 30 minutes is always a mistake Brynford United made a tactical change off came the injured Matty Loton who was replaced by Tom Beal and off came Steven Stooke who was replaced by Pat Rush and Brynford switched to a 442. The response was the right one with Mike Prydderch shooting from just inside the box the ball looked to be heading in when Gareth Williams went for the tap in and looked to have missed when he managed to scoop under the ball sending it high into the air with so much spin it came down and bounced in behind the line, that was the bit of luck Brynford needed another tactical change with Brynford reverting to 343 and leveled shortly after when super sub Tom Beal crossed the ball in from deep for Dean Rigby to flick on past the keeper. Brynford piled on the pressure looking for the winner which came in the 82nd minute when Tom Beal again slid the ball in for Dean Rigby who jinked past two and fired home from the edge of the box sending the goalkeeper the wrong way Brynford were back from the dead with yet another tactical change to 532 Brynford sealed victory to keep their promotion push going.

Underdogs Brynford United have knocked The President Cup holders out in the second round in what was a fantastic game of football which was full of tense moments and emotion a classic cup game in every sense with the sides having to be seperated by penalties after 120 minutes of play. Although Brynford probably had the majority of possesion and created more chances in the early stages Rhuddlan Town burst into a 2-0 lead early on with Brynford United pulling one back in the last minute of the first half when Man of the Match Mathew Loton in his first competitive appearance for Brynford United this season whipped in a neat cross from the right to be headed in by the smallest man on the pitch Mike Prydderch giving Brynford a timely boost going into the break. The sides returened after a short interval due to the fading light and Rhuddlan were quick off the mark stretching their lead to 3-1 but Brynfords response was the right one with Mike Prydderch netting his second header of the game on 55 minutes with Brynford continuing to press for the equalizer piled on the pressure and were awarded a penalty when Ashley Durham was chopped down in the box. Mike Berry blasted home the penalty to bring the sides level. Rhuddlan had plenty of chances and could have restored their lead but were denied by both the post and the crossbar but the result after 90 minutes was 3-3. Extra time prevailed and Brynford will feel hard done by having what seemed to be a perfectly legal goal dissallowed in extra time the teams remained deadlocked and the tie had to be decided by penalties. Brynford went first through Roger Dakin who slotted home then Rhuddlan equalized next to step up for Brynford was Gareth Williams who smashed his home Rhuddlan scored Mike Berry Blasted home and Rhuddlan scored again 3-3 David Williams stepped up next and finished his penalty with ease 4-3 to Brynford Rhuddlans fourth penalty was saved in style by goal keeper Danny Roberts leaving Ashly Durham a long walk from the centre circle to seal the game for Brynford he smashed it home and well the rest is history.

Penmaenmawr Phoenix 3 Brynford United 1
David Williams (58)
Brynford United crashed to their second defeat in three games but put up a brave fight against unbeaten Premier Division outfit Penmaenmawr Phoenix only to be undone by some poor refereeing decisions, I know we keep harping on about the standard of refereeing but something has to be done about it after a first half display in which Brynford dominated and could have put the match to bed after only 20 minutes but failed to make their chances count were struck a blow on 40 minutes when Pen broke on the counter attack to take the lead. Brynford were right to feel robbed at half time and went 2-0 down after failing to clear the danger from defence by trying to play the ball out. Tactical changes were made by the manager and Brynford replied immediatly through David Williams and started to take the game to Pen only to be undone by the Referee after Mike Prydderch broke free he was pulled down by the last man but the referee allowed play to continue until David Williams put the ball in the back of the net and yes belive it or not when the Referee blew his whistle Brynford were celebrating and were shocked to see him award a free kick to Brynford at the edge of the box and not even produce a card to the last man a decision criticised by the coaching staff of Penmaenmawr during the post match drink. After this decision Brynford were infuriated and piled the pressure on Penmaenmawr pushing for the equalizer but were sunk from a set piece on 82 minutes. This was a game where I quote Jose Mourinho the best team lost!

Brynford United secured victory against Betws Yn Rhos in this thriller Betws took the lead on 22 minutes although Brynford were on top and applying pressure Betws scored from a well taken free kick the goal knocked confidence and it took Brynford 10 minutes to get going again with Justin Prydderch scoring the equalizer on 31 minutes and after some tactical changes and some lovely passing football in patches by Brynford they took the lead on 38 Minutes through Mike Berry from 35 yards out and the score at half time remained 2-1 to Brynford. After a relaxed half time break Brynford were too slow to start and got caught napping on 50 minutes allowing Betws to break through the defence scoring a 1 on 1 which keeper Danny Roberts could do nothing about. 10 minutes later and Brynford still hadn't got going and Matty Jones brought down a Betws player in the box giving them the chance to take the lead for a second time from the spot and that was our wake up call on 65 minutes Brynford were awarded a penalty which was smashed home by Mike Berry for his second of the game and Brynford kept up the pressure and showed great team spirit coming from behind again to take the lead 4-3 with a well taken header from David Williams on 68 minutes after 3 substitutions and a tactical change Brynford took the game to Betws and should have sealed victory early on when Tom Beal played an excellent through ball to Paul Cohen who missed from 1 yard out when it would have been easier to score there was a nervy end to the game when Betws had two corners during the last couple of minutes but Brynford managed to hang on to a well earned victory.

Brynford United suffered their first home defeat of the season losing out 3-2 to Greenfield in an evenly contested battle Brynford took the lead on 19 Minutes with a neat passing move calmly finished by David Williams Brynford looked to be in control of the game but were undone by yet another poor refereeing decision when Greenfield scored from an off side position. This unsettled the lads who lost their concentration in a mad 10 minute spell where we conceded three in ten minutes the second through poor marking for a set piece and the third through a mistake from the usually consistent Danny Roberts. At half time Brynford gathered their composure hitting back immediately from the spot on 49 minutes through Mike Berry and should have equalized failing to level the tie after a mazy run from Mike Prydderch who neatly put the ball across the box only for Roger Dakin to miss from 5 yards out. Had that gone in I have no doubt Brynford would have gone on to win the match, but it wasnt to be and there is a long way to go yet and Brynford still have every chance of winning promotion to the Premier Division as champions.

Brynford United are through to the third round of the North Wales Coast Cup after brushing aside premier division local rivals Halkyn United Reserves. Halkyn United were on top for the first 10 minutes and only for a fantastic one on one save by Brynfords young goalkeeper Danny Roberts could have taken the lead they didnt and Brynford started to dominate. The midfield battle was won early on with Brynford having most of Halkyn Mountain to knock the ball around and took the lead through Justin Prydderch from a corner on 34 minutes. Brynford stretched their lead on 40 minutes with a superb volley from outside the box by Mark Seaman on his full debut. In the second half the game became more physical with two Halkyn players and one Brynford player substituted through injury the third and final goal was scored by Leon Carrington with his first competitive goal this season on 70 Minutes.

Brynford United continued their 100% home record with a win over Glan Conwy we were slow to start going into the half time interval 1-0 down but it was a game of two halves with Brynford United on top in the second half Roger Dakin equalized with a thunderbolt strike from 40 yards which found the top corner a definate contender for goal of the season the goal lifted the whole team and defender Matty Jones calmly sloted home the winner with his first goal for Brynford United.

Glan Conwy 1 Brynford United 0
A dissapointing first defeat of the season for Brynford United a draw would have been a fair result as both teams were very poor. There were many changes from the team who played Point of Ayr the week before but again Brynford refused to get the ball down and play it on the deck which is frustrating as they
are clearly a much better team when they pass the ball. This game was very much like being on centre court at wimbledon more like a game of tennis than a football match with both teams constantly hitting the ball long. Lets hope their is a huge improvement in our next fixture which is against Glan Conwy at home on the 29th September.

Brynford United maintain their 100% record and remain top of the Clwyd League First Division but they made hard work of it and can count themselves fortunate to have come away with all three points. They failed to get going all game as they struggled to get the ball down to feet and pass the ball because Point of Ayr were closing them down every time and not giving us any time on the ball. Danny Beal who transfered from Point of Ayr to Brynford during the closed season scored the equalizer and Mike Berry secured all three points with a well taken penalty in injury time.

Brynford United secured their first clean sheet of the season against an inferior Caerwys team who just could not cope with the quality of passing Brynford United produced. From start to finish Brynford dominated this game and should really have won by a far greater margin having missed countless good goal scoring oportunities. It was good to see that both wing backs got on the score sheet allowing Brynford to rise to the top of the Mackenzie Jones First Division after just two games. As long as they can keep their feet on the ground and continue their good form there is no reason why they can't be there come the end of the season.

A well deserved and hard fought three points for Brynford United who flew into an early two goal lead after Mike Prydderch was brought down twice in the box the first being a tackle from behind by the last man who should have walked but the referee did not produce a card. Cerrigydrudion responded by scoring the next goal before half time as Brynford went into the half time interval leading 2-1. The sides emerged for the second half after a much needed break from the intense heat. Brynford then stretched their lead to 3-1 with a good strike from outside the box on 69 minutes from Dwayne Durham, only to concede one minute later through a lack of concentration. In fairness Brynford could have won by a greater margin having a further five good claims for penalties turned down and by his own admission the referee allowed Cerrig's second goal which was clearly offside to stand as he had awarded Brynford two early penalties which says it all really it was a good game spoiled by the Referee.
Man of the Match: Tom Beal it was a close decision between him and the Ref.

Brynford United are back to winning ways but struggled against a very impressive young Mostyn Dragons side who battled hard for 90 minutes, putting in some meaty challenges and showing they can mix it which is rare in a side so young. They never let their heads go down although they trailed 3-1 at the break and if they can keep their excellent team spirit together then I would not be at all surprised if they achieve promotion this season. Brynford United made eight changes during the second 45 minutes making the most of their last chance to experiment this did unsettle them a little bit but credit where credit is due well done Mostyn Dragons.

Brynford United suffered their first defeat since March 3rd 2007 having 12 players missing through holidays, work commitments and many injuries due to their grueling pre season schedule. The lads will go into their 10 day break having been brought down to earth as complacency was creaping into the camp. Hopefully the break will do them well and we will see them firing on all cylinders again against Mostyn Dragons. Mike Berry took his goal scoring average to one goal a game becoming Brynford's current top goal scorer with his first hat trick of the season.

Holywell Town took an early lead from a counter attack then Brynford were reduced to 10 men on 15 minutes. Although reduced to 10 men Brynford continued their onslaught equalising before the break. At half time the referee ordered both managers to the officials dressing room to try and calm the game down. Brynford started the second half with 11 men after the half time discussion. Roger Dakin put Brynford ahead from the spot after Ashley Durham was brought down in the box, Mike Prydderch got the third while David Williams pounced on a goal keeping error to complete the scoring for Brynford with Holywell Town scoring a consolation goal late on.
