Well Daddy, You are the best! Maybe when we are walking you can teach us how to play football. Love & Kisses From your Girls xxxx
Prozy's Story
In July 2006 I took over Brynford United as they were in danger of folding altogether at the time Ste Brad and I was helping out with under 11's and 12's after a training session one saturday I heard the previous under 11's and 12's manager Tim tell the kids "the Senior team is folding and all this here will soon be ours" I can't explain how that made me feel imagine Brynford without a team!!
I have watched Brynford since the age of 10 when I used to ride down to the pitch on my Italjet 50 when I heard the sound of men shouting and first played for them in 1994 at the age of 14 when Mike Ellis was manager so it would be true to say I have Brynford FC in my heart.
When I took over Brynford there was no electricity in the club house the showers were not working there were no players and the club owed out more in fines than there was money in the bank. The hard work began here as me and Ste Brad stood in the empty changing rooms in the dark we scratched our heads and wondered where the f#ck do we start.
If it wasn't for Ste Thomas who attended the Clwyd League AGM and paid the fee's out of his own pocket to register Brynford United in the Clwyd League for the 06/07 season then Brynford would have folded. Further to registering the team Steve bought Lime to mark the pitch, 5 sets of white shorts, 3 new match balls at £20 a go and paid to register and insure the lads for the 06/07 season. (If you ever read this Steve I am eternaly gratefull).
Me and my dad Daj who is wheelchair bound and has a wealth of knowledge being a Chartered Engineer set about the task of getting the electricity back on and fixing the showers while steve thomas arranged the pre season freindlies. In the 06/07 season Brynford signed over 40 players but the turning point in my eyes was the re-arranged Greenfield game at home a game in which we failed to play on a previous occasion when I left the previous manager Martyn Evans in charge while I went on holiday to Magaluf. The night before the game Martyn cancelled the match thinking he could not raise a team but little did he know all the lads turned up at the spar as usual and for not fullfilling the fixture Brynford were deducted 3 points and fined thats all we needed. Anyway it was 40 minutes before kick off and morale was so low we only had 9 players Fuc#in 9 players for a home derby against Greenfield!!! so after a few phone calls we scratched a team together and that day three lads turned up Dwayne Durham, Ashley Durham and Neil Roberts who scored an own goal on his debut which he has more than made up for since we also had Alan Weller available on a regular basis. We got tanked but things were about to improve.
We all went away for our christmas break and came back full of hope and enthusiasm the league table didnt look good infact we were as good as relegated but we went out against league leaders Abergele who were unbeaten and won 2-1 and well the rest is history we were safe from relegation with a game to spare.
After our end of season party at postnine with a free bar which worked wonders for team morale I set about building for next year. With the help of Sonia Rodgers we set up the website you are currently viewing Coupled with this Alan and Del launched the Brynford United Juniors after the previouse manager Tim was found to be swaping player registrations prior to matches leading to the U11's and U12's teams being expelled from their respective leagues.
During the summer myself Alan and Del have been busy raising funds to secure the future of our beloved club with the Juniors raising over £1300 from packing bags in Asda and Morrisons we have secured a £1000 sponsorship deal with TDG Logistics and £400 sponsorship from Talk of the Town along with Grant aid from the North Wales Coast FA, The Brynford Community Council and The Sports Council of Wales taking the total raised during the summer to over £4200.
Last year we survived by collecting subs from players running a pontoon and doing football cards in the pub after our home matches. We raised £2500 during the season but still made a loss of £250 this year we have invested heavily in the future of our club spending £1000 on training aids for both the Juniors and Seniors along with new Nets corner flags and a line marking machine.
I knew we had to filter out the poor players from last year and only needed about five quality signings to strengthen the squad for a title challenge. So I drew up a list of which former captain Justin Prydderch was top I was determined to bring him back to where he belongs at Brynford. With Tigger came Marney and Roger Jagga unearthed a young and very exciting Goal Keeper in Danny Roberts, Danny Beal returned from Point of Ayr and we signed midfielder Mark Seaman from rivals Greenfield. This was it we had strengthened in every position we needed to and I can honestly say that all my players this year are worthy of wearing the green and white of Brynford United. I see no weaknesses in the squad and we have cover for every position the hard work is keping them all happy.
It is my vision to take Brynford United out of the Clwyd League and into the Welsh Alliance League in order to do this we must meet the ground criteria set out by the Football Asociation of Wales by erecting dugouts and metal railing in order to control the spectators these measures will obviously cost thousands of pounds which we are working towards raising we do have permission to erect the railings and build the dugouts and with the team we have at the moment promotion is only a matter of time.
In order to sustain a place in a higher league we have to build for the future by adding more teams to our club with an U13's through to U17's team which will feed our Reserves and First Team anybody wishing to add a team in one of these categories should contact me my contact details can be found in the contacts section of the menu board.
If you are reading this bit you have obviously taken the time to read my story I hope it gives you an insight as to how I feel about this club so as you have spent so much time reading my story take a little longer and leave a comment just write what you are thinking right now.

Hi Son...it's an interesting thought that you followed the sound from the pitch by riding down on your "Italjet 50" motorbike.. I remember well working overtime over Xmas and New Year 1987/8 in Belgium which paid for it.. Seeing Brynford United "Top of the League" means it was clearly a good investment(Posted on 2007-10-03 10:03:00 by )

Its about time someone took the running of Brynford United seriously and with a passion. Weve got a good group of lads here now, and a good gaffa. After spending most of my footballing years at Brynford it would be ace to play at the Welsh Alliance level. Keep up the good work paul.(Posted on 2007-09-06 20:49:00 by )
