Clwyd Premier Division
Ruddlan Town 2 Brynford United 2
Roger Dakin (26)
David Williams (52)
Brynford United secured a point against Rhuddlan Town with a solid team performance but could count themselves unlucky not to have taken all three Brynford took the lead on 27 minutes through Roger Dakin with a well taken free kick which lobbed the keeper however Rhuddlan pulled one back when Brynford gave the ball away cheaply in their own half and were punished. both sides were level at the break. When both teams emerged after the interval It was Brynford who were first to react and re-took the lead on 52 minutes through David Williams who also hit the bar with a fine strike from outside the box later in the game. Brynford held their lead until the last 5 minutes when Rhuddlan were awarded a dubious free-kick on the edge of the box when the referee Mr G M Gray claimed Roger never shouted his name when he did, only to retract that statement later and claim Roger had shouted his name but never won the ball even the Rhuddlan Town lads admitted after the game Roger had shouted his name Rhuddlan scored from the resulting free-kick and although Brynford had two good chances wasted two clear penalty shouts and their manager Paul Jones sent to the changing rooms by Mr G M Gray they could not find the equalizer. The Referee did however award a last minute corner to Rhuddlan when it was clearly a Brynford goal kick the danger was cleared and the final whistle was blown in time unlike the first half when the Referee played 5 minutes extra time when Rhuddlan were applying heavy pressure although there were no stoppages during the first half only to call time when Brynford broke through. The Referee's perfomance seemed to be one affected by an outside influence and will be reported to the Clwyd League.

A dissapointing first defeat of the campaign for Brynford United who never really got going in this contest the scoreline somewhat flatters Halkyn who took their chances well where Brynford did not missing a hat full of chances. Over the 90 minutes Brynford created enough chances to have put this one to bed hopefully lessons have been learned you have to take your chances at this level and the Gaffer will be looking for the right reaction against Rhuddlan Town this coming Saturday.

Brynford United got their Premiership campaign off to a flyer whith a 5-1 victory over Denbigh Town Res. dubutant Sam Scott opened his account from a corner ans shortly after Steven Stooke who seems to have found his favorite position lobbed the keeper from the edge of the box captain Roger Dakin finished the first half scoring with a neat free kick curled home from level with six yard box outside the area. Brynford took a 3-0 lead into the break but it was Denbigh who responded after the interval and struck back after only 5 minutes through Matt Toole but that was to be their only goal and were finished off with strikes from Gareth Williams and another debutant Chris Bedford.

Brynford United battled valiantly against League of Wales opposition Airbus UK who fielded a Peruvian international in midfield. Having taken a shock lead after only 32 seconds through David Williams Brynford United were unable to keep hold of their advantage as Airbus UK scored twice to take the lead which was short lived after Gareth Williams scored from a free kick on the edge of the box to equalize for Brynford United on the stroke of half time. The sides emerged for the second half in the pouring rain and it was Brynford United who took the initiative taking the lead for a second time through David Williams again, they held on to their advantage up until the 70th minute when Brynford hit the self destruct button following an equalizer from Airbus UK there was a bust up between Paul Cohen and Tom Beal ending in Paul Cohen leaving the field without permission forcing Brynford into making a change 1 minute later Airbus UK took the lead then Tom Beal left the pitch without permission both players have let their team mates and the club down in possibly one of the biggest games in the clubs history Brynford once again made a forced change in personnel and Airbus scored again, matters were made worse when captain Roger Daking was sent off for using foul and abusive language ending this match as a contest and Airbus ran out 5-3 winners.
